Puppets are used as a mode of
communication since olden days. These days the academicians have included these
puppets as a mode of teaching aid for a better understanding among the students.
To inculcate the art of making a puppet and narrating stories a Major Activity
for the students of Class 2 was held on 25th April’14.Students had a
wonderful time making their own finger puppets and using them to communicate
with their friends.
As the school is celebrating
Year of Sound this year, pictures of
musical instruments like xylophone, drum, guitar, dholak and maracas were given
to the students and they were asked to color it. These wonderful bright colored
instruments were attached to their fingers with the help of elastic bands.Soon
the students were interacting with each other using the finger puppets. The
activity was an ideal way to encourage oral communication in
English.
