The Prize Distribution Ceremony for the Senior Wing for the session 2008-09 was held on 30th March’ 09 on the premises of Delhi Public School Varanasi. The entire campus was abuzz with excitement and expectation.

It was a time of celebrations and felicitations for those who toiled by burning the midnight oil while the world slept.

The much awaited event commenced with the welcoming of the Chief Guest Prof. Kamal Sheel, Dept. of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Arts. The events was also graced by presence of Mr. Pradeep Ghosh Principal, Mrs. and Mr. Pankaj Rajgarhia, Director & Mrs. Ashoo Kalra, Head mistress.

Right at the onset, those students who braved all odds and dared to be there on each working day of the school, were awarded for 100% attendance. Thereafter those students who have shown remarkable progress in the second semester of the session were awarded with the performer’s badge.

The next category was the Scholar’s Badge for the students who have scored 90% and above.
The theatre echoed with applause as the ‘Illuminati badges were awarded as these students have shown their grit and determination by performing consistently for 3 years. ‘Blue Blazer’ was conferred to students who scored above 90% for 4 consecutive years.

The next on the list was the category of ‘Blue Tie’ which was conferred to students who have maintained a score of 90% above for 5 consecutive years.

And then it was the ‘Blue Belt’ category under which those students were awarded who has maintained their 90% above percentage for 6 consecutive years.

The ‘Virtuoso Award’ was bagged by Amisha Patel VI-A, Siddharth Modi of VI-B, and Shriya Sagar of VIII-C for maintaining the 1st position for 3 consecutive years.
It was a proud moment for Nashi Marwah of VIII-D to receive the Brilliance Award- given for attaining first rank for 4 consecutive years, and securing 99% in the session 2008-09.

Next was the Prodigy-1 award for those who maintained their 1st position for 5 consecutive years. The proud recipients of this award were. Shobhit Ojha of VI-E, Kanupriya Raman of VII-A, Umang Singh of IX-B
And then came the moment for those who have been consistent and maintained their 1st position for 6 consecutive years, to receive the Prodigy-2 award. The recipients were
Gurvansh Singh of VI-C and Siddharth Prabhu of IX-A

This was followed by awarding the Rank Holders of the various classes.
The chief Guest Mr. Kamal Sheel appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers and the parents for providing a conducive atmosphere and encouragement to the students which has resulted in such fabulous performances.

The Principal Mr. Pradeep Ghosh congratulated the achievers and voiced his expectations that the students will continue to produce such results in the years to come. It was indeed an emotional moment for students as well as parents.

The programme was well anchored by Ms. Indrani Sen and Ms. Kiran Sharma. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Kiran Sharma.
