The renowned Counsellor Mr. Jitin Chawla the director of ‘Centre of Career Development’ from Delhi enlightened the horizon of the children. Mr. Chawla has successfully taken more than 1600 sessions to help the children in different cities of the Country. He mainly focused on the psychological aspects to motivate the children in choosing a right career.

The children were told end number of options that they can avail according to their liking and penchant for different subjects in the fields. He opposed the trend following blindly the traditional streams of engineering and medicine that are opted by the students because they don’t know the variety of courses and vocations which can help them in their future.

Teenage pressures, lack of exposure, insufficient information don’t allow the child to think of the pros and cons of the option he goes for. So it becomes a moral and ethical duty of an institution to render a helping hand to such students who are anxious to opt a fruitful career. Mr. Chawla eulogized the efforts of DPS Varanasi in providing the children a right help at a right time which will prove to be a stepping stone in their life.

In this two day session he tested the potential of the children through verbal, numerical and mechanical psychomotor aptitude test. These tests helped in judging a child’s language skill, mathematical approach and rationalism. It was a step to bring out their hidden talent into lime light which will facilitate them in the selection of a career and will make them extrovert .

Many new options were introduced to the children like space research, bio-technology, environmental science and many other options related to commerce and humanities were brought forward.

The parents were also invited in the session as they play a vital role in career selection of their child.
