After the inaugural ceremony Mr. Pradeep Ghosh, the Principal read the Annual Report of the school and informed the audience about the outstanding performance and achievements of the children in the school .
The Chief Guest Mr. Ashok Chandra, Director, DPS Society sent his blessings to the children. Pro. V.C. Mr. Pradeep Rajgarhia read out the message sent by Mr. Ashok Chandra. He expressed his happiness that the school has shown tremendous progress in all the fields in a very short duration of time. He also spoke about the new Middle Wing building of the school which has added a feather in the cap of the institution.
The Guest of Honour in his speech expressed satisfaction over the fact that DPS Varanasi had shown a tremendous expansion in a short span of seven years. He congratulated the school authorities for providing a platform for the children to show their talent. He also added that DPS Varanasi is doing a great task by promoting the children to excel in their fields and is molding its children in the right direction and hoped that it was quite capable of giving the nation good and responsible citizens.
The speeches by the honourable guests were followed by the cultural programme staged by the children of the Primary and Junior wings. First the young ones paid homage to Lord Ganesha, the God of success and fortune by singing a hymn. This was followed by a magnificent dance celebrating the divine glory of the Lord Ganesha.
The Group Song ‘Dekho Phool Hai Kitne Sunder was sung melodiously by the children giving the message that beauty is eternal and touches the hearts of all. Flowers also inspire the poets and the artists.
The next item was the school Orchestra which made the audience sway with its enchanting music. The Orchestra consisted of 60 students who played Rag Khambhaj with perfect synchronization. The entire auditorium was throbbing with the scintillating music of the orchestra. They gave a masterly performance on the Tabla, Sitar, Bonga, Violin, Drum, Guitar, Keyboard and Octopad.
The last item of the programme was the Hindi Play entitled ‘Hum Hai Haste phool’ which was performed by small children dressed up as bright colorful flowers. The message they successfully conveyed through the play was that pollution poses a danger to the environment but by spreading happiness and beauty all around they like the flowers are determined to defeat that hazard . As the children looking like beautiful flowers performed their parts the whole atmosphere on the stage and in the auditorium was filled with brightness and cheers.
The vote of thanks was given Ms. Shikha Mishra and Rashesh , Sadhir , Niket, Esha, Shristi, Achintiya and Prashansa anchored the whole programme in an entertaining manner.
Pro VC Mr. Pradeep Rajgharia congratulated the children and parents for putting in great efforts to make the programme a success. Ms. Seema and Mr. Pankaj Rajgharia was also present to boost the morale of the students and the teachers. |
