A tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
Delhi Public School, Varanasi paid tribute to the Father of the Nation on the 2nd of October’07, the International Day of Non-Violence. Music is that form of art, which provides infinite solace to the mind and soul. With this in mind DPS Varanasi organized a music workshop under the able guidance of Mrs.Shubha Mudgal and Mr.Aneesh Pradhan.

The workshop started on the 28th of September and concluded on the 1st of October. The main aim of the workshop was to spread the message of peace and brotherhood through non-violence. The students of DPS Varanasi participated wholeheartedly in this workshop and benefited from the valuable tips imparted by the experts.

On the eve of 2nd October’07, the students impressed the audience with their soulful renditions of a few of the favorite songs of ‘Bapu’, the Father of the Nation. Shubhi Sinha, the anchor expressed her views and thoughts about the principles followed by Gandhiji.

Mrs. Shubha Mudgal encouraged the students in her address and while applauding the efforts of the children, also expressed her desire that children should be motivated more towards music. A major attraction of the evening was a short quiz conducted by Shirk Anis Pradhan and was mainly based on the songs of ‘Bapu’. It was heartening to see the parents participating actively in the quiz along with the students. Mr.Pradhan posed intelligent questions to the audience, all of which, were based on the songs which had just been presented that evening.

The evening concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal, Shri Pradeep Ghosh. He maintained that such exposures were extremely beneficial for the young generation and expressed his commitment to more such workshops in future.
